Held responsible for clearing of snow on all raised walkways, sidewalks, porches, and doorways along designated route. As an Intern my goal here was to learn as much as possible. It began with taking notes while shadowing my mentor and attending meetings among the department. As the summer progressed, I was given the responsibility of reading certificates of insurance for each subcontractor to confirm they had the correct coverage and endorsements. I also maintained contact with over 40 subcontractors regarding their prequalification status with LeChase Construction Services. My technical skills improved as I made various weekly spreadsheets for unqualified or expired subcontractor analysis. This then led to my participation and education in financial statement analysis and risk mitigation plans of the industry. Finally, my occasional work in the legal department provided me experience in contractual agreements and filing systems.

Creatively, efficiently and safely pack, wrap and load hundreds of items everyday. Customer service and attention to detail are critical when handling the customer's possessions in their own home. Additionally, taking apart and building complex pieces of furniture without any guidance or instructions has strengthened my critical thinking skills. Working cooperatively to transport large items and hours isolated in a truck improved my ability to work in a team and establish connections with my coworkers.

The experience I gained at Union Straw was mostly involving industrial dishwashing, but some food-prep as well. The fast-pace environment and division of labor within the kitchen fed my work-ethic and ability to independently problem-solve. I averaged about thirty-five hours per week while attending high school and often worked over forty hours during the summer. I also spent two weeks building the outdoor patio for the restaurant during the Covid-19 pandemic during which I learned basic masonry skills. Being highly adaptable to my work environment, attentive and a quick-learner enabled myself to thrive despite the various tasks I undertook at Union Straw. I put in my two weeks notice of resignation in June of 2021, but remained working until I left for college as they were dealing with a shortage of labor at the time.

Also, being able to cooperate with coworkers across various demographics proved essential in this workplace. I managed to average about sixteen hours a week while excelling academically in high school and participating in sports year round. I was eventually laid off as the restaurant permanently closed after struggling during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
