Physical Fitness Coordinator
CurrentConducts fitness assessments for Public Safety employees, recruits and applicants: administering physical agility tests, tests for body fat composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, and cardiovascular functioning; calculates and documents assessment score; ensures testing activities comply with established policies and procedures and industry standards; and updates testing protocols as needed.Conducts fitness training programs for Public Safety employees and recruits: develops and/or leads training programs to include running, strength training, endurance, balance, and flexibility; monitors fitness progress; administers first aid as needed; and maintains related documentation.Develops, coordinates and implements wellness programs and activities: conducts training classes, one-on-one consultations, workshops, etc. regarding healthy living, stress, fitness, nutrition, weight management, strength training, disease and injury prevention, and other issues; and creates and distributes newsletters, bulletin boards, and other collateral materials.Manages the purchase, maintenance, and repair of testing and fitness equipment: performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment; coordinates major repairs with vendors; researches and makes recommendations regarding new equipment; prepares bid specifications; and makes equipment purchases in coordination with Purchasing Department, Public Safety management, and others as needed.Maintains documentation regarding work activities: enters testing results into department database; researches, compiles, and/or monitors statistical data; summarizes data, performs routine data analysis, and prepares reports.
