About Jonathan S.

I believe that addressing the climate crisis is inseparable from securing a just future for all, and this drives everything I do. As Head of Operations and Development at Green New Deal Rising, I work alongside a passionate team to empower young people to fight for climate justice and create a future where everyone can thrive. For me, climate activism isn’t just about addressing environmental issues—it’s about securing futures and ensuring justice for communities that have been historically marginalised. My journey into climate advocacy was shaped by my experience in the On Purpose leadership programme. This transformative experience unblocked my life, giving me the tools, confidence, and direction to pursue work that aligns with my values. It shifted my focus to impact and purpose-driven work, helping me realise that making a tangible difference for people and the planet was where I wanted to dedicate my energy. At GNDR, I’m inspired daily by the passion and creativity of those driving the movement. Together, we’re pushing for a world that’s not just sustainable, but one where justice and opportunity are foundations of a fairer, better world.
