I am the founder and Chair of the community resilience-building charity Plan C, the CEO of Safer Future, a company that helps clients prepare for future crises from a place of deep peace, an adjunct lecturer at Southern Cross University, a firefighter with Fire and Rescue NSW, and a dad of two young boys. Before this, I spent 15 years working as an international aid worker in war and disaster zones, including Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Congo, Haiti, Iraq, North Korea, the Occupied Palestinian Territories and more. All of this informs my interest in climate action, community regeneration, resilience, and non-traditional security. I have published several academic and non-academic papers, all focusing on catastrophic disruptions and ways forward. I am familiar with all stages of the project management cycle and experienced with both leading strategic/operational planning and implementing technical projects on the field. • I have worked as a consultant for more than 5 years - in risk management; research & analysis; and capacity-building - for a variety of clients. • As a scholar, I have completed a PhD in International Relations; published several papers; have taught at several universities in Europe and Australia; and led and completed large-scale research projects in Afghanistan, Haiti, Central African Republic and the Congo.
