Formed and incorporated a new motor carrier division of the company, Larkin Express LLC. Responsible for leading the newly formed organization through its start-up phase, working with state and federal agencies to incorporate our company, gain our motor carrier authority, and become and remain DOT compliant. Once the company was established, other responsibilities were to build and implement operational best practices and to provide strategic input to drive continuous improvement by championing efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures resulting in exceptional customer service and ultimately the success and growth of the business. Oversaw operating budget management including payroll, insurance coverage, benefits, supplies, company assets, capital investments, depreciation, maintenance and repair, and third-party contracts. Served as a key contributor in forming another division of our company, Larkin Warehousing, through a collaborative effort with the Senior Leadership team in building the business case for expansion, modernization, and facility reconfiguration to guarantee proper storage, receiving and shipping capabilities for present and future business.

Improve operation and financial performance through continuous process improvement and standardization of practices. Manage and improve utilization of company assets growing our tractor fleet 10% to 210 Local day cabs, while also increasing our driver to tractor ratio by 19%.Directly supervise and manage a fleet of over 340 drivers and independent contractors, a team of 14 fleet managers and 2 carrier capacity coordinators, an On-boarding Manager, and a Payroll Clerk. Oversee interview, hiring, and on-boarding process for office employees as well as drivers. Achieved driver growth of ~25% YoY for our Dallas Local fleet going from 275 drivers to 340. Oversee and manage the staffing of office employees in accordance with our operational needs such as driver scheduling based on freight volumes forecasts and driver to manager ratio. Accounting of our operation’s P&L statement and manage accounts payable and receivable.Work to maintain a culture of inclusiveness, diversity, and positive morale within our office and our driver fleet. Maintain compliance to all DOT regulations and promote driver safety. Data Analysis to measure overall ramp, fleet, and individual employee metrics.Create plan of action to improve operational excellence and implement finished projects.
