As a First Author and former National Lecturer on Disciplinary Alternative Education, I have published multiple post-doctoral peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles in a series of scientific contributions in the field of educational psychology in collaboration with renowned scholar Dr. Hefer Bembenutty. My work has been regularly presented at the prestigious American Educational Research Association (AERA), the top national educational conference in our country. My most recent presentation in Philadelphia was as part of a consortium of professors from John Hopkins and the University of Ghent in the Netherlands on the topic of disciplinary alternative education programs. My published works have been cited in over 20 countries around the world.My career with special populations and at-risk students as an instructor, counselor, and researcher has given me an extensive, “in the trenches” understanding of the critical issues that face our students today, particularly in the areas of gratification delay, positive peer involvement, student self-regulation, self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, and goal orientation As a local small business owner, a business technology & graphic design director, and a former business consultant specializing in management, marketing & fundraising, my mission is one of service. As an educator and business owner, I work tirelessly to prepare students for life and what comes next and to give our friends & patrons of our shops a culinary experience to remember with a smile.
