About Julia Stephanus

As a 30-year veteran of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry, Julia is a Partner in venture capital at Borealis Ventures. Julia founded Avviare, a consulting practice focused on start-ups in veterinary therapeutics. She is a Board Member on multiple start-ups and a Founding Director for Feather in Her Cap, an organization dedicated to recognizing outstanding women in animal health. She was Chief Commercial Officer at Aratana (now Elanco) and was instrumental in the IPO. As Aratana CCO, Founder and CEO of Summit VetPharm (now CEVA), and Head of Global Marketing for Pfizer (now Zoetis), Julia has been involved in the development and launch of 28 innovative veterinary products including multiple blockbusters in pain management and parasiticides. In addition to the extensive animal health experience, she spent two years in human health.
