About Steve Britt

I am an expert in data protection across the entire legal & regulatory landscape, including cyber, data privacy and artificial intelligence. I hold 3 IAPP certifications, the AIGP (Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional), the CIPP/E (Europe for GDPR) and the CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager). I advise global companies and senior executives on all aspects of building a data management program that complies with GDPR, Federal & State laws (including over 22 state data privacy laws), the EU AI Act, and new state AI laws in Colorado, Utah and California. Having served in senior Federal positions, I understand and support national security & intelligence contractors under FARs, DFARs and HSARs. I enjoy helping companies operationalize data protection, including the development of data assessments, data subject access requests, opt-in and opt-out elections; privacy notices, data protection agreements and data protection frameworks such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. I fully understand the requirements for responsible AI development of AI Systems that are trustworthy, transparent, explainable, secure, human-centric, valid, reliable & accountable with sound AI Governance.I am strategic, entrepreneurial, an excellent communicator and an experienced manager of staff, issues and organizations.
