I led Redjack’s commercial product development and analytic services team. We worked to build the team and the architecture to handle 10 times our customer base in the next two years. Our intelligence product created the foundation for a single source of truth of an organization’s digital activity. We served customers including the Fortune 100 and the largest government agencies, to include the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Energy, and one of the world’s largest retailers.Grew the team by 25% and the paying customer base by 50%, adding a deep pipeline of pilot customers, while increasing product features, performance, and reliability. Led a complete code-level and architectural overhaul, taking a legacy codebase with potential to a set of decoupled components able to be recombined to fit many engagement shapes, from solely on-premises to cloud-native; added support for multiple Linux and virtualized environments. Led an offshore team to create a Django GUI that seamlessly interoperates with the on-site team’s work. Introduced modern software development practices, to include continuous integration, unit testing, rigorous performance testing, continuous deployment, and DevOps.

Got involved in anything and everything across the entire middleware and data flow architecture for a large distributed system of systems from beginning to end, forming relationships, making improvements, finding consensus, and making the world a better place for developers and data, in order to serve the mission, support and improve operations, and improve time to market for new intelligence collection capabilities to satisfy national requirements in support of foreign intelligence efforts. This work was in a hybrid office composed of civilians, military, and contractors from many companies, working together as one team. We worked on a large variety of capabilities that spanned from collection to final analysis, frequently bringing new ideas to market in production within weeks, where other groups took months or years. Our work led to many successful and critical collection opportunities with real-world results.I also served as the site lead for Redjack, managing and hiring a team of seven Redjack engineers at its largest, finding business opportunities, establishing contract positions, and supporting proposal efforts. During this time we maintained positions on three separate prime contracts and contributed to the successful award of a delivery order to an additional prime contractor.

A collaborative effort with three prime contractors to develop a near real-time data architecture at the tactical edge. Our work on the system covered all aspects of end-to-end data processing, including data acquisition, data storage, data enrichment, and near real-time geospatial situational awareness.Led a team of 20+ FTEs to build an analytic tool which entered production in three months from development start. Supported it in combat zones for four years with 24/7 support and a monthly deployment tempo. Integrated with several other mission workflows, data feeds, data stores, and enterprise services.
