RingCentral has acquired our company, Glip. I will be taking on the role of Senior Developer out of the new Boca Raton offices slated to open in Q3 2015. My duties will include transitioning Glip into RingCentral Teams, deeply integrating with RingCentral, finishing a great new mobile product and building the team of the future.

As a co founder of Glip, I'm no stranger to getting my hands dirty. I work with our CEO, CTO and development team to deliver the best business messaging solution available. From designing our load balancing socket.io-based architecture to modeling our plugin and 3rd party integration frameworks, I still do my fair share of development work. At the time of writing, Glip has a relatively small development team. It is important to maximize productivity in a team of any size but it is critical when resources are few. Here is a short list of my contributions:-Architected real-time backend services with a mind for scale-Created ‘plugin’ architecture allowing for ease of new feature development-Integrated with numerous 3rd party services, adding value to our customers’ experience and making us an industry leader-Implemented design patterns for a memory efficient state-based client experience-Benchmarked and optimized frontend and backend services-Researched, decided upon and developed with Backbone.js in both frontend and backend services-Spec’d and built many core services-Automated much of the development cycle using tools like Grunt-Built load testing tools to and scaled product to over 1MM simultaneous active users-Participated in and created various promotional and marketing initiatives-Trained and managed other developers-Many others - just ask!

At Multiply, I was responsible for many key pieces of software powering the Social Network/eCommerce giant. If you aren't familiar with Multiply, it is a social network turned ecommerce site that has a huge Southeast Asian following. At it's traffic peak, it was in the Alexa global 100 and has been in the top 10 for Philippines and Indonesia for some time. In 2010, Multiply was purchased and we were tasked with turning it into an ecommerce platform. At the time of writing this (December 2012), Multiply's ecommerce platform is producing millions in GMV. Here is a short list of items that I worked on during my time there.- Architected scalable framework and wrote software for handling over 1 million daily media uploads in Perl- Built desktop Auto-Uploader in Adobe Air - Reverse engineered Adobe media server and re-wrote (and scaled) it in Perl for video recording via Flash- Optimized and scaled image serving for over 100 million (yes, over 100 million at it's peak) daily image views.- Built system for transcoding videos into web- and mobile-friendly formats for over 10000 videos per day using open source solutions- Built an framework for easily adding import/export tools- Identified bottlenecks and scaled various subsystems to help reduce page load times- Worked with numerous 3rd party APIs- Architected and built much of the framework for Multiply's ecommerce platform.- Built the ecommerce frontend (product interface, shopping cart interface)- Built many back office tools for the customer service and marketing teams- Built a mobile version of the product, including a full ecommerce client (sadly, this never saw the light of day)- Extended Multiply's API for ecommerce- Built print platform for photo books, photo calendars, photo cards and photo prints- Created a system to convert Adobe Illustrator files into interactive photo books, calendars, and cards- There is really too much to list.

Sims Classic Sports was a top 10 eBay seller. When I was brought on board, there was close to zero automation. I transformed the company by implementing efficient methods of product management. Eventually, I convinced management to let me overhaul the company website (which was basically a link to their ebay listings) and in turn, overhauled the way we did business. During this overhaul, I solely designed and built an ecommerce platform that integrated with eBay. This cut costs because if items sold on our platform, we did not encounter eBay fees. I implemented a bulk ebay listing scheduler which would take a group of items (if still unsold) and post them to eBay at a specific time.Eventually, I developed a platform that allowed us to open up our technology to 3rd parties. Unfortunately, the project was short lived due to under funding.
