Responsible for the fiscal management and strategic operations to accelerate the growth of MCBA. Establish and lead the continued improvement of systems and processes to increase membership, improve member experience, and increase program adoption.

Provided leadership and strategy for the team responsible for national annual fundraising, major donor prospect research, development communications and marketing, data analysis, donor relations, fund/grant management, gift processing and donor stewardship/recognition for the Boy Scouts of America. Streamlined and optimized development group operations related to gift processing, prospect/portfolio management, prospect research, and donor stewardship. Working as a partner to the VP of Development, provided the functional support for all philanthropic activities including approach strategy, case writing, prospect research, for midlevel, major, principal and planned giving.

Created and executed the digital and print collateral, communications strategy, promotion, and campaign analytics for the $250 million Growing Future Leaders Campaign. Designed the data-driven prospect research strategy and process to support the campaign major gift portfolios including deep-dive dossiers, large scale database analysis, and board network activation. Managed the project to activate the customer relationship management system for development use. Transformed the way data was used to increase fundraising as well as the way data flowed and could be leveraged. Key IT partner to buildout the moves management, prospect management and research functions in the CRM — creating one source of truth for custom campaign analytics for senior leadership and board review as well as fundraiser/prospect/portfolio management. Built dashboards and analytics drawn from CRM data to track campaign progress and fundraiser activity. Designed Foundation branding, website, and communications including the annual report.

As the first Development Director for this mental health non-profit, I was responsible for building a donor centric development program from the ground up. This included processes, strategies and operations. Focusing on early pipeline growth, created and grew the annual fund program to feed the emerging major gifts pipeline. Led the implementation and training for a new CRM to track moves management and engagement. Built the structure and research methods to identify and engage principal and major gifts. Led the research efforts to identify principal/major gift prospects and prepared dossiers for crafting individual cultivation strategies. Accountable and responsible for the cultivation and stewardship communications (both digital and direct mail) for all donors and prospects. Gave voice to families and residents through storytelling communications to engage and inspire. Built strong relationships with families and key donors to maintain an active portfolio, guiding prospects through cultivation and solicitation. Directed all donor and prospect event strategy and execution. Worked with the board to activate their networks and reported directly with the Executive Director and President. Favorite aspect of my role: Building relationships with families and playing a key role in the promotion and sustainability of the recovery model for mental health.

Founded licensed home care agency to serve the elderly and disabled across Western North Carolina. Started this business from scratch without a small business loan, just grit. Built Hearthstone to be a respected and trusted name in elder care. Managed a large multitiered team with operational and professional/para-professional nursing responsibilities. Led the growth strategy, marketing and communications to grow Hearthstone to seven-figure gross revenue in 3 years. Recognized by the city of Ashville as a rapidly growing small business 3 years in a row. Team responsibilities included contract negotiation, client acquisition, employee relations, client satisfaction, quality assurance, state compliance, para-professional certifications and accounting. Managed 125 employees and provided over 80,000 hours of client care.
