Utilizing SolidWorks for designing optical proprietary PSF refraction devices enable practices to deliver measurably better patient vision. Patients can easily discern subtle differences in focus beyond what can be detected using phoropter and Snellen letters so final prescriptions can be refined down to 0.05 Diopters and 0.50 Degree increments – rather than 0.25 Diopters and 5 Degree increments with the phoropter. Patients not only see markedly better, many improve from 20/20 to 20/12. Designed also an optical headset that measures the K-value, so they can manufacture contact lenses that are custom fitted for you’re the lens of your eyes.

Utilizing SolidWorks 2017 and EPDM Enterprise to design and develop the next-generation products to address unmet medical needs of patients with a variety of pulmonary and cardiac diseases. We are currently developing an inhaler for nitric oxide (NO) products for use in both the hospital setting and for longer-term applications outside of the hospital setting. The design includes a set top console that involves electrical mechanical packaging and a mechanical mechanism interface that receives a single-use drug cassette of N2O4.

Utilized Siemens Solid Edge ST6 3D software for design and development of opt mechanical 3D camera imaging systems that use Spatial Phase Imaging (SPI) Sensor which extracts three dimensional 3D information without scanned or structured lighting. The SPI technology can be used for extracting 3D Volumetric, 3D Biometrics, Nano metrics and Non-Contact Measurement images.

Utilizing Pro/Engineer Creo Parametric 2.0 for design and development of the new Vectrix electric scooter. Design involves taking the industrial design surface files and creating 3D parametric solid models of the outer skins and all the joint interfaces of each panels with all the mounting features to attach to the frame of the scooter that is supplied by Vectrix. The job also involves prototyping of all panels for verification of the fit and assembly to the frame.

Managed the collaboration of the design with Farm Inc. to bring true product innovation to the hands of surgeons by introducing a proprietary, interactive robotic surgical system that helps treat people living with early to mid-stage osteoarthritis of the knee. With my human factors expertise helped create an ergonomic design solution that enables the surgeons to have complete freedom of movement of the robotic arm, providing seamless interaction and manipulation during replacement procedures while also accommodating the size variations of users and patients. Responsibilities include: Design and surfaced in SolidWorks of all the exterior parts of the RIO and various different End Effectors designs for partial knee and future various procedures.

Lead designer of a handheld, fluid powered transfer device that transports beta radiation source trains through a Catheter for vascular brachytherapy procedures. Design included complex 3D sculpted surface of outer housing, and rechargeable battery pack. Device included a locking mechanical mechanism to safely interlock the radiation cartridges with the Catheter and a directional lever. Implemented SolidWorks and PDMWorks replacing Pro/ENGINEER as our company wide CAD system.

Designed a non-invasive diabetes screening analyzer and a non-invasive Bili-Rubin analyzer device. Design included custom plastic piece part of complex 3D sculpted surface geometry. The unit also included a stamped sheet metal chassis and bracketing for structural integrity to support X, Y, Z, stages and precision mechanical mechanism design to support optical mounting interfaces as well as a custom foam facial support with an adjustable chin rest. For the Bili-Rubin analyzer layout and design of custom LCD display module attached, custom elastomeric keypad with mylar domes for tactile feel, flex circuits and IRDA interface to peripheral devices also design the injection molded plastic housing using DFMA techniques/snap fits for ease of assembly and to minimize fasteners.
