I provide support, strategy, and direction for our multiple initiatives and campaigns (including Building Healthy Communities: Long Beach). I oversee communications strategies, which includes media partnerships, organizational communications, and individual campaign narrative strategy. I supervise three full-time staff working on communications and research/policy work in addition to student interns.

The arts-X-press Program Director is responsible for setting a positive and productive tone for staff, counselors and students. The Program Manager and Program Director work closely as a team to oversee daily operations of the program. The Program Director is the senior staff member who resides on campus while camp is in session and has full authority to make decisions regarding student well-being. The Program Director participates in the selection, training and supervision ofcounselors; collaborates on curriculum and schedule planning; and oversees all aspectsof student life during arts-X-press sessions.

As part of the hub team for Building Healthy Communities initiative in Long Beach, I manage our communications projects, including message development, storytelling, media relations, website, and social media. I facilitate collaboration amongst all our organizational partners and work in tandem with our campaigns, affiliated coalitions, youth and adult residents, and our primary funder The California Endowment. I also act as site preceptor for our student interns and community volunteers.

Assisted in field efforts to register new voters, register permanent absentee voters, and update voter information in the 66th Assembly District on behalf of the California State Assembly Majority Caucus.

I coordinated field canvassing efforts targeting 48,323 voters utilizing daily and weekly strategic goals, composed and oversaw campaign communications via social media and Constant Contact, and supervised 35 volunteers and student interns working on voter outreach, data entry, and research.

I perform all administrative tasks for Centro Shalom including maintaining client databases, updating social media sites (Facebook and Twitter), serving as webmaster, designing advertisements for services and programming, co-coordinating special events, and assisting para-legals with clients.

I advised a caseload of approximately 530 undeclared, College of the Arts, and College of Liberal Arts undergraduates on courses, graduate school, policies, academic probation, and career options. I also researched and prepared scholastic reports on students and academic cohorts within the program utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and CMS Peoplesoft. Lastly, I served as administrator for the organization’s Facebook page to find and post content, monitor statistics, and increase outreach.

I research breaking political news in Orange County, California to post online and serve as Webmaster for our main website and Facebook page while proofreading content for errors and archiving. I am one of the founders of the political news site: www.octalkingpoints.com.

I represented the university and ASI in the California State Student Association and coordinated the development of the AS Lobby Corps to advocate legislation or issues on behalf of CSULB students. I also served as one of the main coordinators for the "49ers Vote" voter education campaign to engage students in the November 2012 election.

I coordinate one weeklong session of the Arts-x-Press summer program in tandem with the Program Director and Manager. Essential tasks include coordinating meals for students and staff, organizing tickets and groups for excursions, assisting guests while on campus, posting online content via the Arts-x-Press blog and facebook, and supporting the senior staff in workshops.
