Currently, I work for the International Trade Center in the area of trade development. I have extensive experience facilitating the design of national export strategies. This work involves bringing together policymakers, trade support institutions, the private sector, and civil society to discuss trade-related issues and to formulate solutions. I led the design of multiple strategies in sectors ranging from IT services, the creative industries, medical and wellness tourism, and cross-cutting trade support functions such as trade information, trade and investment promotion, and skills and entrepreneurship. This experience has given me a practical understanding of the issues constraining exports and investments in developing countries.I also have extensive experience researching and publishing on trade-related issues. I have led, authored, or co-authored over a dozen UN publications covering topics such as small and medium-sized enterprise competitiveness, export and investment development, quality management, trade agreements, value chains, and gender and youth empowerment.
