• The Chelan County Department of Community Development is comprised of four divisions which include Current Planning, Long Range Planning; Building & Fire Marshal, and Permit Center / Code Enforcement.
• Manage department consisting of Long Range Planning, Current Planning, Permit Center and Building/Fire Marshal totaling 17 employees with an annual budget of $1,600,000.
• Implement policies of the County Commissioners, serve as liaison to the County’s 5 cities, other governmental organizations, and many civic and constituency groups.
• Responsible for setting Department Operating policies, employee training, supervision and evaluation. Responsible for decisions related to hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with.
• SEPA Responsible Official and Shoreline Administrator.

Direct and manage overall process from inception to certificate of occupancy; land acquisition, feasibility, due diligence, contract/lease negotiations, governmental land-use approvals, CEQA/SEPA and construction management throughout Northern California.Responsible for project design, direction of feasibility studies, negotiation of third-party agreements.

Managed all phases of project development for the construction of new Costco Warehouses in the Southwestern United States (2000-2006) and new Costco Warehouses in the International Markets of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Initiated preliminary investigation of sites and consultants for work in the Australia market (2006-2008).Responsible for site.

Elected in 1996 to the first of two (2), two-year terms.Served as member of the Executive Board to United States Water Polo Inc., the National Governing Body for the sport of Water Polo in the United States as recognized by the US Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee.Duties of the Secretary included: (i) keep the minutes of the.

Managed the Current Planning Section, including administration of the Community Development Code and the daily operations of the Division, employee training, supervision and evaluation, and provided recommendations for hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations.Served as Responsible Official pursuant to the State Environmental Policy Act.

Established operating policies and procedures for the City's first Planning Department, prepared and presented written and oral staff reports, and responsible for planning and staff support to City Council, Planning Commission, and Park Board.

Prepared and presented written and oral staff reports to City Council, Hearing Examiner, Houghton Community Council and the Planning Commission; included review of zoning regulations and ordinances, site inspections and pre-hearing consultations with applicants.

Prepared and presented written and oral staff reports to the City Council, Planning Commission, and Board of Adjustments, met with applicants to review developmental proposals, and developed a land-use classification system for the City and supervised employees in its implementation.
