GMs at AWS are like CEOs of a business unit. I'm responsible for the P&L of my group. I directly run engineering and product development, and through other teams I'm responsible for go to market activities, financial reporting and analysis, customer success, and all other aspects of the business. As a GM at AWS, I've run a few different businesses. I started off by owning IP Address management, then led AWS's VPN organization, which included AWS Verified Access, Client VPN, and Site-to-Site VPN. While I was with the VPN group, we built and launched AWS Verified Access, AWS's first dedicated Zero Trust solution for customers. At the time, these businesses generated over $300M ARR. I then moved to own AWS Network Firewall and AWS Firewall Manager, and currently I'm incubating an exciting new GenAI product.

I helped teams with N-Tier architectures, which were fairly new at this time. I also wrote Perl and shell scripts to automatically build and manage server infrastructure.
