• Inspect the various equipment used in house, and write reports on its condition.• Set-up, operate and repair the LAN and the uplink into the WAN used on the battlefield. This includes monitoring the numerous server racks and attached systems for any signs of wear and tear. These servers were primarily Microsoft based.• Ensure others are filling in paperwork correctly, to enable the repair chain to act promptly and replace damaged IT equipment.• Able to work alone when under intense pressure or as a team member coordinating resources to get the job done quickly and efficiently.• Configure the numerous Switches and Routers used in the racks, which were mainly Cisco variants.• Took charge of the 1st line repair workshop and re-established the correct fault diagnosis process. This prioritised the faulty equipment and resulted in reducing the backlog of work, whilst improving the availability of equipment.• Co-ordinated the setting up of the equipment every month as a team, so that it could be checked for any issues prior to being used to provide the link back to UK Mainland.• Achieved promotion within the British Army to the rank of LCpl.
