Mr. Carrillo is a Research Computational Engineer in the Mobility Systems Branch (MSB) of the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) at the US Army Corp of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (USACE-ERDC)Mr. Carrillo has leveraged his skills in high performance computing to specialize in the area of computational modeling of autonomy systems within virtual environments which include effectively evaluating autonomy systems using M&S and investigating the effects of physics-based simulated data for machine learning applications . He is currently serving as a principle investigator on various programs related to the off-road performance of manned/unmanned ground vehicles, manned-unmanned teaming, and development of high-performance computer-based simulations for testing and evaluation of autonomous systems through sensor-environment interactions.
