IDEXX is a fortune 500 company and global market leader in diagnostics and information technology solutions for animal health and water and milk quality.Headquartered in Maine, IDEXX employs over 9,000 people in more than 75 countries around the world.In my role, I was responsible for leadership relating to strategy, development, and delivery of IDEXX Laboratories customer facing software products. This included over 35 Cloud-based software products being developed world-wide by hundreds of software professionals. Budget allocated for the associated development exceeded $45 million annually.The product implementations are largely deployed to the Amazon and Google Clouds. I was able to lead IDEXX from having a few client-server software offerings to become the leading Cloud provider of software solutions for the veterinary industry. During my tenure at IDEXX, I efficiently evolved the software R&D organization to be a leader not only in Cloud development, but also in AI/machine learning, DevOPS, DevSecOPS, and Big Data through organizational development, a deep partnership with Google, creating innovation space, and utilizing my network to attract the best technical talent.

Bottomline Technologies provides collaborative payment, invoice and document automation solutions to corporations, financial institutions and banks around the world. The company’s solutions are used to streamline, automate and manage processes involving payments, invoicing, global cash management, supply chain finance and transactional documents. As VP of Development, I was responsible for leadership relating to development and delivery of SaaS products for the Transaction Services North America division of the company. These products included Business Exchange (BBeX), Legal Exchange (LeX), Allegient Systems (TAS), Global Commission Payments (GCP), and PayMode-X.Revenue generated from the products is $65 million annually.Initiatives:- Transition to Agile methodology for development teams- Acquisition of PayMode and GCP from Bank of America- Acquisition of Allegient Systems- Integration of development teams, processes, and products- Implementation of automated testing within the SDLC - Implementation of code quality measurements within the SDLC

CashStar was the world-leading virtual gift card provider prior to their acquisition by Black Hawk. They delivered their first production release in October 2008. My responsibilities included providing assistance in architecting their card processing systems, online customer account maintenance applications, point of sale integrations, and delivering technical presentations for investors and potential clients.

In this role I was responsible for building development teams, implementing new products, leading development efforts, and providing the architectural vision which helped Wright Express remain a leader in the industry.Initiatives--------------Led the development team that designed and built the next generation web offering for account holders at Wright express. Provided architectural direction, project management, and team management for developers, quality assurance engineers, and product managers.Developed the initial service oriented architecture (SOA) roadmap that was implemented at Wright Express. Promoted the service oriented architecture to senior executives, business stakeholders, and other technical teams, then finally built and managed the team that implemented the vision.Performed an architectural review outlining inefficiencies in the distributed model at Wright Express. The review outlined a development effort which will result in simplification and streamlining of systems, development processes, and testing processes within the company. I presented this to senior executives and other development teams gaining support necessary to initiate the project. I built the team, planned the initial architecture, and am currently leading the development team of 12 developers, beginning with development of a new external web product which utilizes a service oriented architecture (SOA).

Software Architect and Team Lead on the initiative to reengineer Wright Express’ business processes. This was a high-energy, fast-paced environment that required the implementation of extreme programming practices such as daily stand-up meetings, test driven development and refactoring.I was responsible for leadership of a team including seven onshore developers and eighty offshore developers. I streamlined a marginal offshore development model and turned it into a highly effective team extension capable of meeting tight deliverable schedules, while still providing extremely high quality products. I was responsible for architecture, design, and development for many of the systems developed by the Java teams at Wright Express. I have also led the technical effort to maintain code reusability through sound object oriented principles and adherence to development standards.

• Responsible for architecture, design, development and implementation of a J2EE web-based scheduling system for Sugarloaf USA and Sunday River. Solution is deployed on Tomcat and services approximately 120 users.• Responsible for architecture, design, development and implementation of a J2EE web-based membership management system currently deployed at New England health clubs.

Contract programming as a key member of a three-person J2EE web development team which developed a web based Decision Support System for an Oracle data warehouse used by Fairchild Semiconductor. Designed the system’s core query building data structure and SQL generation engine in addition web development responsibilities.

Lead developer for development of a Long Term Care administration system managing over 12 million dollars in premium annually.• Major contributor in object-oriented design and development of the administration system using Visual Basic 4.0, ODBC, DB/2, SQL.• Selected as part of a 2 person ‘swat team’ to take over the final steps on completing the entire Long Term Care administration system, working with client testers to streamline entire system operation.• Project leader in re-engineering the Long Term Care batch process system. Reduced average call-ins from three times weekly to twice monthly.
