At SCDOT, I direct state and federal government relations for SCDOT and represent the agency at the SC Legislature. I have also developed strategic plans for PR, implemented media relations programs, and assisted our project teams with public involvement and community outreach planning.MY DIFFERENCE: I have extensive experience in strategically positioning communications and relationships that get stakeholders to a supportive "yes" -- and quickly.Previously as AT&T Director of External Affairs, it was a pleasure seeing my work and the work of my dedicated team help grow SC's economy and contribute to technology improvements that have enhanced communities and businesses across the state.Leading an External Affairs team at AT&T and building an extensive network of key stakeholder relationships in SC, I achieved public and media relations and legislative, economic development, and external affairs objectives by developing, planning, and implementing business, government, and stakeholder initiatives covering state government and cities and counties across SC. With positive working relationships with key business and community stakeholders, state legislative leaders and government officials, I drove policy changes with complex, break-through negotiations, and I advocated for and gained approvals for small cell, macro cell, fiber, U-verse video and other technology deployments.Some of my most rewarding work has been to help economic development organizations attract new jobs and investment to our communities and to support SC's First Responders with FirstNet wireless broadband communications, working closely with the SC Emergency Management Division.HOW I INFLUENCED OUTCOMES:► Public Relations and Public Affairs: Generated positive policy change and new service launch revenue results through news media and social media amplification.
