Primary responsibilities were Phase I and Phase II design on active state highway projects. Secondary duties were under taken personally to assist other engineers in developing plan sets. Phase I responsibilities included gathering existing data (as built plans, traffic forecast, structural or functional deficiencies, crash data, etc...) and the preliminary design of possible alternatives. After Phase I completion, meetings would be scheduled to determine preferred alternative and the preliminary line and grade.Phase II work included applying state standards and specifications to preliminary designs to develop a finalized plan set to be submitted forapproval.
