Tim is the Director of the Data Science Center at the UCLA Library, a unit that provides data services for the campus. This includes designing services that help the UCLA community find, (re)use, publish and preserve data. The Data Science Center does this through teaching, consulting and developing a data infrastructure. Tim is also a regular user of R, Python, SQL and command-line tools and has extensive experience helping researchers and students with applying these tools to their research. He's a volunteer and member of The Carpentries, a global volunteer run educational enterprise that teaches foundational coding and data science skills to researchers and citizens.
