It began on Madison Avenue, where I managed brand and crisis communications for some of New York City's titans. My first step into entrepreneurship took me into the realm of products, launching one of 2010's most viral consumer concepts. However, the pivotal moment in my career occurred in the farm-to-table sector. It was here that the vital hard lessons on business sustenance took place. Committed to social entrepreneurship and driven by mission, I started and maintained a business without the right frameworks. I persevered as I saw even well-funded and staffed competitors fall due to tight margins on honest food.Reaching a critical point in this venture, I met and was hired by Mark Oakes, a world-class business and performance leader and mentor. Mark imparted to me some of the most impactful business and life lessons. These were not just theoretical concepts; they were hard-earned in the trenches, often with no-holds-barred feedback. Over seven years, the experience included hiring millions of dollars in talent to double the size of a "less glamorous" industrial business unit while keeping its margins intact, as well as leading a more "glamorous" consumer e-commerce venture to tenfold, profitable growth. I led teams that executed creative campaigns, managed high six figure advertising budgets, and developed a burgeoning strategic system that would eventually crystallize into five methods.
