About Jeremy Toeman

Creating video is challenging, but it shouldn’t be. When I led Product & Innovation at WarnerMedia, and had access to the best tools, self-paced tutorials, and experts around me, I eventually gave up. But it made me wonder is it possible to make a thing that could just listen to the words and automatically match them to appropriate images and clips?” My friend Scott was hooked, and quickly built a prototype; triggering my other friend and colleague JT to jump right in as a cofounder, and our first few angel investors signed up as well. We put together a truly stellar team, and got the prototype into a working shape. At Augie, we recognize there are many in the business world and creative space that need to create video content - after all, we live in a video-first marketing world as it is. The steep learning curve makes it impossible for most busy professionals to enter the space, even when they have the time and resources. The other options is to hire someone, but that’s expensive, and let’s face it - not everything needs to be agency-level quality. So…we built Augie, our all-in-one video studio. Augie is designed to make video-first marketing attainable for any business. We built easy-to-use features that cover the entire video creation and editing workflow. Anyone can jump into our product and create engaging social video content in minutes — no matter their experience or skill set. With hundreds of thousands of users and videos created already, Augie is doing its job: simplifying video creation for countless individuals without prior video expertise.Interested in seeing how Augie can enable you or your business to start creating video? Reach out for a Demo! We offer custom Enterprise solutions, custom tailored to your needs. Here's my less formal bio:I'm a Father of 3, passionate about sustainability, travel, card & board games, craft IPAs, and hockey. Go Habs!

I managed two offices (SF and Seattle) with a team of 50 product managers, designers and developers.Dijit was a startup focused on building transformative products at the dawn of the smart TV and streaming era. Our first app was the Dijit Remote, which paired with Griffin's Beacon device to turn a smartphone into a remote control, and was very successful. In 2012 we followed up with NextGuide, a hyper personalized TV discovery app. Due to the shifting trend to streaming-based TV and movie consumption, we built a TV guide app to help people discover new shows based on their interests, and track their favorite movies, actors/actresses, and shows across disparate streaming services.

Standout client work included:* Dropcam - very successful startup that revolutionized indoor security cameras. I designed the new user on boarding / out of box experience. * Boxee - highly disruptive cross-platform media streaming software and device company. I crafted their initial go-to-market strategy for the software, as well as the Boxee Box.* Sphero - makers of the BB8 robot/toy. We were responsible for their initial launch and go-to-market execution and strategy.* Electronic Arts - worked on a strategic initiative to conceive of and visualize an "app store for gaming" (prior to the modern-day concepts)* Bug Labs - I worked with Bug Labs from initial concept through launch, for their award-winning BUG platform. The product, in the pre-iPhone era, pioneered the vision of the modular mobile device. The company was featured on CNBC and won the Best Innovation award at CES 2006.Other prominent clients included Waze, VUDU, Sonos, Best Buy, Drobo and others.

Built the first DVR with streaming capabilities, which won Best of CES (overall) that year.* NETGEAR Networked MP3 player (2004), the first major brand home audio streaming device.
  • Palmtastik
    Founder
    Palmtastik 1997 - 1999
    Santa Clara, California, Us
Palmtastik was a Web portal for PalmPilot owners (back when it was called PalmPilot!). My partners and I built the site from the ground up, and raised and spent a total of zero dollars. Within 6 months of launch we were the #2 trafficked Palm web site on the Internet, and had been interviewed by magazines such as Entertainment Weekly and GQ.However, this was just before the 'dot-com era' and we had no idea the bubble was coming. Without any obvious path to profitability, we decided to shutter the site. I like to think we closed the first dot-com, long before the crash.
