IT Project Manager Supporting DHS HQ OneNet Network Engineering.

Serving as the senior member of the contractor team supporting Customs and Border Protection’s Enterprise Data Management Engineering Division’s Middleware infrastructure. Providing technical direction and guidance to all contractor employees including scheduling, delegation of duties and responsibilities, development and review of all plans and reports. Ensuring that all efforts conform to prescribed agency standards and industry best practices; providing advice to team members on problems and ensuring that all time schedules are met; ensuring adherence to System Engineering Lifecycle and Configuration Management principles; preparing ad hoc progress and/or management reports as required; scheduling and participating in peer reviews; ensuring that problem reports are documented and closed within a reasonable period of time.

Managed and coordinated DHS OneNet Engineering projects and service requests for NPPD, the DHS Security Operations Center and the classified DHS HSDN and LAN-C networks. Managed the implementation of several OneNet special projects: Reverse Proxy, LogLogic (hardware to VM migration), RSA (hardware to VM migration), DNS infrastructure upgrades, and geo load balancing utilizing F5 LTM and GTM hardware across both of our data centers. Administered, moderated, and over saw thedevelopmental evolution of the SharePoint based DHS OneNet Request Portal.

Created, implemented, and managed the Department of Homeland Security OneNet Request Portal. This involvedcreating and maintaining libraries, lists, web parts, and special project pages. Coordinated special development tasks with SharePoint developers and assisted in implementation. Also provided assistance on special projects by creating documentation, writing change requests, presenting change requests to the approval boards, and hosting implementation and troubleshooting calls with the network engineering team.

Performed monitoring, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices for all DHS OneNet locations around the world as well as non-CBP employees, brokers, and importers. These duties entailed heavy utilization of network monitoring tools, command line interface configuration, ticketing systems, and fielding calls from users and customers in the field.Traveled to Orlando, Florida numerous times to assist with the stand up of a disaster recovery site. Trained new technicians and participated in disaster recovery exercises. Led sections of facility improvement projects within the operations center which involved facilitating meetings, creating change requests and projectizing the results for analysis by the Project team.
