I spent five years in the US Army. In those five years it helped me develop a strong ability to work calmly under pressure and make decisive decisions as needed. In my chosen job I was taught to lead others in potentially lethal environments. During that time I also worked closely with battalion staff to track and organize persons of interest in our area of responsibility while deployed overseas. My work experience afterwards includes eight years of working in a warehouse, shipping and receiving environment. In that time I have been put in charge of teams who are responsible for the day to day operations and timely shipping of outbound packages or freight. I take pride in getting a job done well and with a keen attention to detail. My ability to keep well organized even when overwhelmed helps to prevent errors in my work without making sacrifices in my other duties. I worked to develop procedures followed by employees in the shipping and receiving department. I am always on the lookout for ways to improve how well jobs are completed and watch for current or future problems in the way tasks are handled by individuals.I have years of eight years of experience driving forklifts and have a current certification. I have worked with other managers to establish and maintain safety measures in accordance with OSHA guidelines. While my primary focus for five years has been managing the warehouse side of operations, I am also trained in managing the logistics end. I have over a decade of experience working with computer hardware and common software as well as programs such as Sage Accounting software. Since my honorable discharge from the military I have had consistently outstanding performance reviews. I have very little trouble adapting to new work environments and methods as they occur in the workplace.
