Conducted systematic reviews on 1,395 research papers related to Metabolic Syndrome and Post-Operative Atrial Fibrillation, utilizing Covidence, an online tool for systematic reviews. This process involved three phases: screening titles and abstracts, performing full-text reviews, and extracting relevant data.

During my experience at Torrado Clinical Cardiology I conducted vital sign assessments and performed and interpreted electrocardiograms (ECGs) for incoming patients. Shadowing the doctor in both clinic and hospital settings allowed me to observe a wide range of procedures, including catheterizations, echocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitor placements and removals. I also contributed to maintaining accurate patient records by transcribing vital signs, medical history, and other essential information into the NeoMed Electronic Health Record system. Additionally, I supported the reception staff by handling phone calls and assisting with patient check-out, further enhancing my understanding of clinic operations.

Contributed to the promotion and data collection for the COVID-19 Registry of Puerto Rico. Collaborated with the Department of Social Epidemiology on an informative article about the most common types of cancer and the importance of screening tests within the aging community. Developed a guided questionnaire aimed at addressing the social determinants of health in Hispanic patients, providing a valuable tool for healthcare professionals to integrate into their clinical practice.

Collaborated with local health professionals in mobile clinics situated in low-income communities, accumulating over 170 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Assigned to medical stations focused on health education and promotion, collection of patient vitals, dentistry, pharmacy, patient hygiene and doctor shadowing. Engaged in community development projects, including the establishment of sustainable gardens and the construction of necessary infrastructure to mitigate the risk of injury.

The Youth Advisory Council (CAJ) is the consulting body of the Department of Health in the planning and implementation of models for the positive development of youth in policies and projects aimed at the health and well-being of adolescents in Puerto Rico. Tasks consisted of providing personal insight that would help determine solutions for health and social issues affecting the island. Worked in the social media outreach team, making health information fun yet accessible for everyone.
