Provided legal, operational and analytical guidance to Senior Vice Present of Technical Claims and his 4 person Associate Vice Present staff regarding changing legal and claim trends for claims involving potential exposure over $2M. Responsible for creating policies regarding issues pertaining to both commercial general liability issues and specialty issues, including professional negligence, marine and cargo loses.

Responsible for managing litigated environmental and mass tort accounts, primarily pertaining to complex asbestos litigation. Coordinated defense among specific carrier groups, local defense counsel, and national trial counsel. Partnered with in house Government Affairs to develop a cohesive and effective lobby on the state and federal level. Investigated all coverage and legal issues in effort to develop the most effective defense of the insured while minimizing potential exposure. Manage 100 active accounts to insure proper reserving, cost control and federal reporting requirements met. Analyzed developing legal and legislative trends to determine the impact on pending litigation. Responsible for over $50M in likely exposure.
