My experience as a urban/community planner spans over 23 years of public and private sector service. Currently, I am the Director of the Clarksville Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission serving the rapidly growing City of Clarksville (180,716 pop.) and Montgomery County (239,872 pop.). I supervise and oversee 12 employees and a $2Mil annual budget providing land use, long range, and transportation planning to the city and county. The previous 9 years included working with Federal clients such as the Air Force and Marine Corps. I believe I am well suited to work for communities that have large institutions such as; military bases, universities, or national/state lands because I recognize the challenges and opportunities that accompany with these uses.My career is an on-going blend of public and private sector experience and is something I would consider unique in the planning field. I am a capable urban planner who brings high level land use analysis and other subject matter expertise to each of my employers and clients. In addition I have completed multiple encroachment analyses, comprehensive planning, installation development plans, transportation plans, charrettes and visioning workshops, and provided outreach and engagement for over a 20 installations and host communities in 10 states.Along with my private sector experience I proudly served as a county planner for over 10 years in New Jersey and South Carolina. My experiences there are highlighted by producing the first ever Middlesex County Buildout Analysis, preserving several thousand acres of next to the Francis Marion National Forest from over-development, leading the first re-write of the Berkeley County Comprehensive Plan, and putting together a proposal for a tax overlay district to fund interstate highway off-ramp improvements in order to facilitate further economic development in Berkeley County. I have also presented at the Middle Tennessee Power of 10, TAPA, and NC-APA conferences, Charleston Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, The Lowcountry Housing Trust, and Leadership Berkeley.
