Hello, I’m Ju!I’m a consultant-turned-entrepreneur and a proud mother of two. My journey began in corporate and management consulting, but I chose to leave the certainty behind to dive into the world of entrepreneurship.At Aegeliss, we are dedicated to creating meaningful, high-quality engagement activities, tabletop games, and cognitive exercises for older adults and people with dementia. Our mission is to bring joy, connection, and smiles to individuals with cognitive impairments and their families, even in challenging times, and to help preserve their abilities for as long as possible.What changed my perspectives:In 2024, my grandfather’s dementia symptoms progressed, leaving me heartbroken and feeling hopeless, much like millions of caregivers worldwide. Through extensive research, I discovered how Montessori principles could be applied to dementia care and how simple, non-pharmaceutical interventions could make a significant difference.He was incredibly proud of himself when he completed a 24-piece puzzle in an hour after multiple attempts over weeks. My grandmother was overjoyed to see how engaged he was and felt grateful for the healthy activities I introduced to them. Without these activities, they would have spent most of their day watching TV.In 2023, my grandfather began experiencing memory lapses and misplacing things. This personal experience fueled my passion for finding solutions that could improve the lives of those with dementia.The Bigger Picture:In 2019, approximately 55 million people globally were living with some degree of dementia, with an economic cost estimated at $1.3 trillion. Alarmingly, these numbers are projected to rise to 139 million people and $2.8 trillion by 2025, according to WHO.Join Me:It’s time to show genuine care and respect for our elder population.
