I am a software engineer who has recently been working extensively with Ruby, Javascript, React/Redux, Rails, PostgreSQL, Mongoose, MongoDB, CSS, and HTML with which I have building some really cool projects. Recently, I built a clone of the popular business communication platform Slack where I had to use ActionCable and Redis to create a web-socket to facilitate a live chat between users. I also had a blast creating a small game only using vanilla Javascript and HTML canvas to animate the game.I graduated with a degree in Computer Science in 2018 which gave me a really great theoretical foundation, but I felt like I needed a bit more hands on experience so I joined App Academy to fill out those gaps. It was a rigorous coarse that would take up to 80+ hours a week to keep up with all the material. I got to learn about a lot of really in demand technologies, so I feel like it was worth it.
