Global lead for Build Change International Programs

Leader of the Latin America and Caribbean programs for Build Change. In charge of implementation of preventive resilient housing program for the region, directing operations in several locations, with focus on Colombia, Sint Maarten, Dominica and Guatemala. Responsible for initiating Build Change operations in the region, setting up the main office in Bogota, and growing it to be a regional respected key stakeholder in resilient housig.

Haiti

Project Manager for Build Change, located at the Port Au Prince, Haiti office. Involved in several programs including new construction and retrofitting existing damaged construction of 1,400 houses for CORDAID, and other donors as JPHRO, French Red Cross. Responsible for overseeing and reviewing construction documents, project implementation, and construction quality on the field. Also in charge of local capacity building through technical training of local in house engineers.

Contractor and designer for various construction projects, including the rehabilitation of 35 school classrooms to serve as computer laboratories in various parts of the country, design of purified bottled water plant in Intibuca, and design for a 250+ lot residential development in Gracias Lempira.General contractor for the municipality of Comayagua, Honduras on two construction projects, a park and the rehabilitation of a historical building.Co-writer of the text for the “Guia de Arquitectura y Paisaje de Honduras” project funded by the Andalucia, Spain Government in collaboration with the Colegio de Arquitectos de Honduras.

Coordinator/Liaison for Honduras of the Binational Technical Unit with Salvadoran counterpart and under the supervision of the head of the binational commission for delimitated territories. In charge of implementing the sustainability strategy of the program and of setting up the Binational Technical Unit which aimed to become a facilitating agency of cooperation and local development, with an initial 2M Euro fund from the European Union. The effort was a first in Central America to set up a joint territorial planning organism, with the capability of funneling resources to be executed by local actors. Due to political change first in El Salvador then in Honduras the unit had to be shut down until both governments decide to reopen.

Tegucigalpa

Consultant in planning and local development, for the Presidential Commission for the trinational sustainable development plan for the Fonseca Gulf. The project was in early planning stage and considered local stakeholder participation, with a strong local development and sustainable land use focus, through regional planning. Design and supervision of the restoration and improvement of the Francisco Morazán Mausoleum in San Salvador, El Salvador, as well as directing of several spatial analyses and remodels of the ministry. National Sub coordinator in logistics and infrastructure of the organizing commission of the 39th OAS General Assembly held in San Pedro Sula.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras

General leadership of the unit, with up to 15 professional staff. Program and stakeholder management, of multiple multilaterally funded ventures, on municipal capacity building, and governance. Technical secretary for the National Decentralization Commission of the Government of Honduras.

Tuve una amplia experiencia en todos los niveles de la industria de la construcción, desde dibujante y supervisor para compañías locales, hasta contratista general en obras comerciales y residenciales medianas. Fui residente de proyecto para obras electromecánicas en Price Smart Tegucigalpa con el consorcio de las empresas ECA y CPK de Guatemala, y El Salvador respectivamente. Supervisor de obras escolares para el Fondo Hondureño de Inversion Social FHIS, También fui consultor para el Programa de Administración de Tierras de Honduras en el área técnica catastral.
