I've been in the software industry for almost 15 years and since I started in TCS back in 2006 I have worked in all kinds of projects, big and small, for mostly fortune 500 enterprise clients. Let's just say I've worn quite a lot of hats.I've always had a focus around Microsoft technologies, but not exclusively. I kept growing alongside technology over the years and was able to witness some amazing things and had incredible mentors. I lived through the agile/DevOps revolution, and looking back I don't even know how we managed to finish any projects before it. It just works. I love technology, but most of all, I love the infinite potential it gives us to disrupt the establishment, to go beyond what is expected, to anticipate needs, and create wonder.I was told many times during my career that coding was not something creative people did, and for some time I believed it. Now I know that they couldn't be more wrong, once I realized that I could express my creativity in this field and in so many amazing ways I just couldn't stop.Now after working for some amazing clients (Motorola, American Express, United Airlines, Humana), and many many successful projects deployed to Production (long nights included), I have discovered what is one of my most valuable skills apart from my tech skills: it resides in my ability to speak the language of everyone in the industry (Clients, Users, Business analysts, Product Owners, Directors, Project Managers, Developers, DBAs, Support, Release Managers, etc etc etc) and act as a translator and facilitator for everyone. I´ve seen SO many times communication being the root cause of issues in projects and not code, that now I can really appreciate this gift and how valuable it can be for a project and a company.My goal is to continue to grow alongside technology (I am so excited to see what revolutions are coming our way!) while at the same time exploring this other softer side of Software Development projects. My ideal company is a place where my experience is valued, and I can share and mentor newer developers on this softer skills that come with time, but where I can also be mentored and amazed by new ideas, create, and be creative with others, I believe creativity has power, it has the power to transform "a job", into something that not only changes businesses, but it can also change the world.
