A Journey of Linguistic Expertise and Technological InnovationMy educational and professional journey has been a tapestry of diverse experiences, woven together by a deep passion for the Spanish language and a relentless drive to push the boundaries of language technology.After earning a B.A. degree in Spanish with an emphasis in Literature from the University of California, Riverside, I went on to pursue a M.A. degree in Spanish Linguistics and Literature from San Diego State University.Professionally, I started as an Analytical Linguist/Project Manager at Metlang, demonstrating my proficiency in translating, monitoring, and transcribing complex Spanish-language communications, while also taking on critical responsibilities of quality control, team training, and stakeholder communication.My career path led me to Amazon, where I first joined the Alexa Language and Data Operations team as a Machine Learning Data Linguist, developing and delivering language modeling solutions, analyzing data sets, and troubleshooting language model failures. I then became a Language Engineer at Amazon's AIDo division, applying my expertise in reviewing API specifications, generating synthetic datasets, and training and evaluating large language models (LLMs). This experience has further empowered me to navigate diverse linguistic environments and serve as a valuable language and linguistic consultant.In my current role as a Program Manager at AWS-CCTech, I leverage my profound grasp of business problems, tools, and workflows related to AWS Marketing programs to manage and deliver complex, cross-functional technology & localization projects. I partner with technical managers, define success metrics, and drive project delivery, ensuring maintainable outcomes that meet the evolving needs of our stakeholders.Throughout my career, I have honed an impressive and diverse skill set, encompassing quality management, program implementation, project management, translation and localization, language technology expertise, data annotation and analysis, and effective stakeholder engagement.Looking ahead, I am excited to continue leveraging my extensive expertise to make a meaningful impact in the fields of language technology, artificial intelligence, and project management.
