I am a Chilean professional translator, passionate about videogames, reading and cooking. As a translator, I have experience in a variety of areas, including general, scientific, legal, audiovisual translation, and videogame localization. I am an avid gamer and I specially enjoy action-RPG and strategy games like Zelda, The Elder Scrolls, and Starcraft: Brood War, and I am always on the lookout for good indie games.Reading is one of my other passions, and it has helped enormously at growing as a translator. Since 2010 I have read over 80 books that have helped me to keep studying English, acquire vocabulary and get acquainted with creative reading and writing. Among my favorite series of books are Game of Thrones, Mistborn, The Stormlight Archive, Lightbringer, The Kingkiller Chronicle, The Wheel of Time, and the Ender's Saga.Thanks to my postgraduate studies and job as a translator trainer, I am proficient in the use of a variety of CAT tools, such as SDL Trados 2014, memoQ, memsource, subtitling software, like Aegisub and WINCAPS, and more. I also have a sound understanding of the theoretical aspects of translation that contribute in the production of functional, target audience-oriented target texts.
