- Lead engagement with a wide sector of stakeholders in Guatemala, ranging from the private sector, subnational government agencies and officials, NGOs, international cooperation, national government, think tanks, academia, and local communities to plan for improved resiliency at a community level in response to national disasters in Guatemala. - Created a country-level strategy for operationalizing climate-related national disaster response with over 22 municipalities in 4 regions. This was based on a country-wide analysis of the key leverage points to increase disaster response and build resiliency for communities, along with a set of co-creation workshops to ensure stakeholder buy-in and cooperation over time. - Main activities include coordinating the capacity strengthening of national and local government response agencies that are contextualized within community needs, along with a technological modernization process to improve data management and storage processes. - Country Office Focal point for Climate Resilience, working with diverse stakeholders to advance an agenda that will lead to a child-centric protection approach to climate change in the region.

Guatemala Area

- Lead focal point from Guatemala in developing regenerative business strategy for TechnoServe, regionally, in how to support and scale regenerative agriculture and human-centred regenerative business solutions, which included a carbon finance component I facilitated with carbon developers. Working group pushed to have this incorporated in new strategy, which was successful. - Facilitating workshops and capacity building based on innovation, design thinking, marketing, organizational structure, and finance for over 100 SMEs and companies. - Mentoring and guiding SMEs on expansion plans, increasing revenue, and creating alliances with potential collaborators in their sector that led to an average increase in sales of 79% and resulted in the creation of over 25 new jobs. Focused on sustainability, regeneration and land-based projects.

Alterna drives social and environmental impact through its purposeful consulting services with social entrepreneurs in Latin America. My role with the firm includes:- Co-developed social impact methodology at Alterna to support the “acceleration” pathway, MEL and feedback processes through action-based research and implementation.- Preparing and facilitating business training workshops using Alterna’s methodology, advising and following up with entrepreneurs.- Co-designing strategic expansion plans for entrepreneurs, conducting market research, risk evaluations and cost-benefit analyses with local experts and entrepreneurs.- Evaluating and reinforcing Alterna’s tiered cultivation methodology, helping to adjust and improve their cultivation program based on prior experience and that gained while participating in the fellowship.- Analyzing social impact strategies and helping entrepreneurs to expand and measure their impact.
