Juan Rivera is the Chairman of the Board for the non-profit organization, Great Minds in STEM. Based in Los Angeles County, its mission is to keep America technologically strong by promoting STEM professional careers especially in underserved communities. More information on its mission and vision is available at www.greatmindsinstem.org.Juan leads a board of directors consisting of 14 executives from various Fortune 500 companies and national organizations. He is responsible for the company's strategy development, ensuring the health of the organization, board policy and for carrying out the board's fiduciary responsibility. Juan has been associated with Great Minds in STEM for over 15 years and has previously served as Treasurer and Vice Chairman. He was elected Chairman by the Board of Directors in October 2018. Juan's previous assignment was Director of Mission 1 Technologies and Applications for the Space Systems Division of Northrop Grumman. He was responsible for creating and developing electronic technologies to provide future satellite capabilities that would meet mission demands. Juan retired from Northrop Grumman in March 2019. Prior to Northrop Grumman, Juan served as an environmental test engineer with Lockheed Martin for several years and he was a junior engineer with Alcoa Corporation for one year.
