• As the CCDSS Ombudsman, I have provided a neutral, independent, informal, and confidential channel for all customers and employees of Charles County Department of Social Services to surface and to resolve complaints and constituent issues.• I provided a service that supports employees and promotes change to improve organizational and workplace effectiveness. • I typically handle such issues as: employee relations, risk management matters, questions of business practice, compliance issues, concerns regarding behavior inconsistent with business ethics or agency values, violations of public law, and industrial health, safety, and environmental affairs. • Issues I have dealt with are reported directly to the CCDSS Director. In order to accomplish the Ombudsman’s mission, I have access to all relevant information and documents, such as benefit files, management or audit data, and health and safety records.
