In this role, one of my key duties is to administer all aspects of financial control and operational risk management, while leading internal controls, risk management, and project/regulatory compliance processes with a focus on steering accounting policy applications relating to IFRS, US GAAP, ICFR, and SOx across our North America Fuels businesses. Furthermore, I spearhead financial planning and performance management across two global functions within BP – Technology & Engineering as well as Procurement, with oversight over each function’s annual planning cycle and insightful performance management. I also serve as the Regional Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Officer, partnering with business leaders to continuously improve the business’ Corporate Culture, alignment to BP’s Values & Behaviors, and serve as a subject matter expert for key corporate risk policies such as Anti Money Laundering and Anti Bribery and Corruption. A few of my accomplishments in this role are:• Led each facet of internal/external audit activity for North America Fuels businesses, involving quarterly reporting & control assurance, and analytical review processes in alliance with the Chief Financial Officer.• Piloted and guided team of regional control, credit, and compliance analysts that served as central resource for all North American Fuels businesses within BP to advise on complex accounting, investment assurance, internal controls, and credit management, while closely collaborating with regional Finance VP's and Controllers to maintain internal controls system and seamless execution of core financial reporting processes.

During my role here, I lead the establishment of the Finance function for BP’s start-up marketing, sales, and convenience retail business in Mexico - the first new market entry for BP in over 30 years, and as the first international oil company to operate in Mexico. Moreover, I devised business scale-up and sustainable policies, processes, procedures, and controls to enable BP's market penetration and rapidly create material market presence across the country. I lead the business' strategic financial planning/analytics (short and long term), accounting, reporting, internal controls, and ERP integration requirements across all Fuels Mexico commercial activities. A few of my accomplishments in this role are:• Increased company presence to over 400 retail stations in under 18 months.• Built and deployed the system of internal controls for existing retail activities and new business in Mexico.• Hired, developed, and led Fuels Mexico Finance team comprising 30 team members with focus on supporting execution of business strategy, providing insightful analytics to management, and creating foundational capability to continue to maintain growth trajectory in country and lead competition.

Key accountabilities in this role were to lead the capital and commitment planning processes, driving integration between Finance and Strategy which supported optimization of the regional Investment Portfolio across all six North America Fuels businesses (three refineries, pipelines, sales and marketing, as well as supply and logistics). A few of my accomplishments in this role are:• Created financial plans/strategies for prioritizing and streamlining Capital Investment Portfolio, optimizing investment returns while balancing compliance/integrity management requirements. Scope of business plan development included short term (2yr) and long term (5yr) financial forecasts.• Developed complex portfolio/project economic models and executed regional modelling processes, advising business Executives and commercial development teams during complex transactions, advising on key metrics such as NPV, Investment Efficiency, Returns, and overall viability of investments.• Formulated and implemented best-in-class investment governance process for actionable investment analytics, efficient supply chain processes, and effective project management. This process is now being replicated globally, across all of BP’s Downstream businesses.

In this role, I directed investment analysis to support commercial development and strategic goals. One of my main responsibilities was to pilot economic modelling, competitive landscape inspection to communicate asset strategies and strategic / financial framework for business and supporting Group Investment processes. Moreover, I spearheaded financial planning, internal controls, reporting, and accounting for petrochemicals global technology and procurement functions. In addition, I was a core contributor in economic modelling leadership for offer differentiation investment with PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid). A few of my accomplishments in this role are:• Planned and reported performance to support Aromatics Americas business, that included annual fixed cash costs, Inventory reporting, yearly ERP security access validation, and required government reporting.• Drove creation of Financial Framework aimed at supporting the Fixed Price offer for Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) to deliver incremental $6M of sales in 2011.

• Responsible for conducting counterparty credit evaluations on new and existing customers with an orientation towards credit risk mitigation and portfolio growth (Supported East / Gulf Coast Branded Marketers)• Actively managed a portfolio of accounts with an average daily Accounts Receivable balance between $75m and $100m, while effectively reducing loss volatility through use of secondary credit market tools (Letters of Credit, Credit Default Swaps, Surety Bonds, etc)

• Accountability for commercial credit risk assessment and analytics, managing 20 key dealer accounts representing approx. $55m in outstanding receivables and $2.5m realized profitability. • Developed and implemented a new pricing model that expanded the company's purchase policy to include specialty vehicle types in order to further diversify the company's portfolio, improve market share, hedge against credit losses from other non-performing product lines, and improve overall profitability.• Lead a team of seven credit analysts, with a bias toward capability development, maintaining an appropriate balance toward growth and risk mitigation, while delivering on key portfolio metrics (Turnover, Defaults, Portfolio Profitability).
