  • Created a 1-D stochastic model of the “SuperStack” fuel cell system and the cathode air delivery/distribution systems in Simulink for the ZA600 powertrain.o A SuperStack is a multi-stack configuration of a fuel cell system with shared fluidic delivery• Explored different design configurations within the Simulink model and presented the advantages of certain designs to the department in preparation for PDR. • Assisted with the creation of a multi-stack high-fidelity fuel cell system model in Simscape • Carried out trade-off studies on electrical and mechanical compressor operation between system efficiency (aircraft fuel consumption) and component performance (pressure ratios, and speeds) • Created a compressor performance model in Simulink to interface with the aircraft performance model• Built a robust CFD model of an aviation intent centrifugal compressor for air delivery to the fuel cell system up to 10000m of altitude in Star-CCM+o Validated simulation results and optimized the model against CFX results and test data. • Owned the CFD fluidic analysis for the SuperStack module • Analysed flow distribution and pressure drops using Ansys Fluent and Star-CCM+ across the SuperStack module to drive make/buy and COTS/MOTS decisions for the air path components o Air manifold: Design from scratch to achieve flow distribution and uniformity requirements o Coolant manifold: Verified fluidic distribution across a four-outlet manifold. o Compressor to stack routing: Optimised flow path to minimise pressure losses while meeting volume envelope, weight and maintainability constraints• Design documentation and requirement specifications for the Air Supply System, owned the Air Filter o RFI, RFP and technical discussions with suppliers to build the prototype unit for airframe integration in the notional aircraft • Create and maintain the Interface control documents of the Air Supply System (Air Filter and compressor)
