Led all user experience related aspects of the Alexa Gadgets business. I set the foundation for how customers engage with physical Alexa Gadgets – which are connected companion devices that drive deeper and more frequent engagement with Alexa devices. I was responsible for:- Establishing and delivering the overall strategy in regard to the manner in which customers engage with Alexa Gadgets as both physical products and their associated skill-based experiences, including Echo Buttons, Echo Wall Clock, LEGO MINDSTORMS Voice Challenge, and yet to be released products- Influencing the manner in which the broader developer community engages with the Alexa Gadgets Toolkit to build third-party consumer electronics products- Ideating and delivering over 30 physical product prototypes that served as proofs of concept for potential first-party and third-party Alexa Gadgets- Delivering over 20 internal tools and simulators that removed friction for both hardware and software developers- Creating and driving the necessary research mechanisms that informed product and feature decisionsI also operated as the Alexa Gadgets evangelist and bar raiser within the broader developer community by presenting at conferences such as AWS re:Invent, participating in live streams, running workshops, and hosting collaborative sessions.

Responsible for a complete redesign and rollout of a new AWS IoT Developer Console, in order to better facilitate the developer workflows to provision, secure, manage, and monitor their fleet of devices. While owning this work, I drove improvements to decrease the time it takes for new developers to connect a device by 4x. I led efforts to gather customer feedback through customer communication channels, qualitative and quantitative research, and direct meetings with AWS IoT customers. In addition, I was responsible for guiding marketing efforts, such as promotional videos and presentations for AWS re:Invent, scaling the team's capabilities through managing external design agencies, and implementing a plan to scale the team to meet the rapid growth of AWS IoT services.

As a UX Architect, I led and contributed to digital product design initiatives for over 20+ clients across a variety of industries. Throughout the design process, I maintained client relationships, established project timelines, delivered design artifacts, and partnered closely with research and software engineers to deliver mobile, tablet, desktop, and web-based applications from concepts to final production.Clients included: FedEx Office, Fidelity, Microsoft, National Geographic, Adobe, Pearson, Navy Federal Credit Union, Conde Nast, and Interscope Records.
