Responsible for the development of general data analysis and visualization for a shared housing startup platform (RoommateMe.net) to accomplish two goals: help their users navigate through the relevant housing market information and get a full picture of the platform´s usage statistics. All the data analysis operations are done using Microsoft´s Power BI ecosystem.• Get relevant historical data from public sources (Department of Housing and Urban Development, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, among others) relating to topics such as housing, employment, and demographics. • Get relevant usage data from the RoommateMe platform.• Store and organize the relevant historical data in a centralized location (warehousing). • Transform the data, performing operations such as transposing, column selection, column pivoting and unpivoting, filtering, adding index and date columns, among others; to obtain the finished dimension and fact tables.• Combine the transformed data (dimension and fact tables) into a single or composite model through data relationships (one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-many). • Create the user-facing measures and filters using DAX; how the users will interact with the data under the hood. • Create relevant visualizations to tell a story with the data.
