Dr. Escrig earned his doctoral degree in physics from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, specializing in nanomagnetism. His research delved into the dipolar interaction between micro and nanometric magnetic systems. At the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics in Germany, he focused on magnetization reversal processes and hysteresis curves of magnetic nanowires and nanotubes, pioneering new methodologies now adopted globally. With over 35 publications on magnetic nanotubes and a book chapter in the Handbook of Nanophysics, Dr. Escrig is recognized as a leading expert in this field. Currently, Dr. Escrig heads the Laboratory of Nanomagnetism, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in Chile for synthesizing and characterizing magnetic nanostructures with intricate geometries. His prolific research output includes 142 articles in WoS journals, accruing over 3114 citations and boasting an H-index of 31. Notably, his work has been featured in prestigious journals, with two cover features and a spotlight on nanotechweb.org. He has also filed 8 patent applications and mentored numerous postdocs, graduate, and undergraduate students.Outside academia, Dr. Escrig has been actively involved in various scientific organizations, including the Global Young Academy and the Chilean Academy of Sciences. He has leadership positions such as treasurer of the Chilean Society of Physics, director of the Group of Theoretical and Experimental Physics of Fondecyt and vice-dean of the Faculty of Science at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as a member of the Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion Saving and Storage Chair.
