As a Transportation Engineer, I am involved in the preliminary and detailed design of roads, highways, intersections, BRT systems, drainage systems, driveways, and multi-use paths for clients throughout the GTA and abroad. My primary duties and responsibilities include:- Design horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway, and intersection layouts.- Produce base drawings from topographic and legal survey plans; new construction plan and profile sheets, pavement marking and pavement elevation drawings, staging drawings, grading plans, typical sections, cross-sections and erosion, and sediment control plans.- Prepare engineering design calculations (stopping sight distance, sightline triangle, minimum radius and superelevation development, auxiliary lane and taper requirements), and technical reports (design criteria).- Prepare contract quantities and cost estimates.- Assist with the preparation of proposals.- Perform compliance review checks.My role involves coordination efforts with various design disciplines such as planning, traffic, landscape, and structural for complete and detailed construction package submissions. It has allowed me to gain experience and exposure using design software such as Autocad, Civil 3d, MicroStation, and AutoTurn.

- Managed and coordinated the main activities involved in the construction of 3 concrete girder bridges (Puente Sánchez Bridge, 6 de Noviembre Bridge, Los Alcarrizos Bridge) and 2 concrete box culverts (10’x10’ Concrete Box Culvert, 7’x7’ Concrete Box Culvert) (US$ 5.4 MM project value)- Recorded measurements of works executed in the field, evaluated contractor’s claim and approved quantities to be paid.- Monitored activities to ensure on-time delivery of materials, equipment and utilities, in order to meet construction schedule.- Maintained cost control plans by preparing monthly reports with detailed information about material and equipment flow.
