I head up the Aladdin App Cloud Platform which is made of engineering productivity building blocks. It encompasses tools and applications for developers to be more productive and produce apps more quickly. This includes:• SDLC services that allow developers to easily define their apps and their dependencies for successful software deliveries. • An Observability platform which provides full-stack end-to-end visibility in terms of metrics, logs, events and robust monitoring across 1k+ Aladdin products. • App orchestration for non-containerized workloads to control application execution.• Engineering productivity services around container orchestration & control plane.2019 – 2022, Aladdin Wealth Platform EngineeringI led the Platform Engineering org responsible for Core Platform, Architecture, and Core Data. Core Platform oversaw shared foundational services and the cloud services that the entire product line sits on. The team owned cloud security, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure as code, telemetry, automation, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines. Produced SOC2 controls and automation for evidence gathering.Core Data was responsible for the entire lifecycle of the large data that was securely exchanged with partners (large financial institutions) and custodians (Fidelity, TDA, etc.) every day. 2017 – 2019, FutureAdvisor Product EngineeringThis function delivered the main app & core digital-advice algorithm service that produced optimized wealth management portfolios. As part of this function, we built cloud tools and apps that allowed the portfolio review team to guarantee best performance with many trading features.All products are deployed in AWS/Azure in a hybrid environment with a polyglot code base -- Java, Go and Python. We employ many cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Argo, fluentD, Prometheus, Istio, etc.

Invitae (NYSE:NVTA, IPO in 2015) is a biotech genetic information company. During my first year at Invitae, I cross-functionally led software engineering teams who were responsible for the core technology that drives Invitae’s genetic information. The teams (located in San Francisco, Boston, and Russia) developed secure HIPAA-compliant (regulated) cloud applications, services and tools for invitae.com portal, lab information management system (LIMS), and data analysis. I oversaw the initial integration with other business automation applications such as SalesForce.com. I was also deeply involved with the software operations teams responsible for DevOps, site reliability, scalability, and software security.We used open source technologies (such as Python/Django/MySql/Postgres/Docker/Puppet/RabbitMQ/ElasticSearch/etc) and Amazon AWS cloud services to develop a family of applications and services that collaborate based on an enterprise messaging bus and REST web services/microservices. We executed full Agile (Scrum and Kanban) software releases, with CI/CD at the core of the software development life cycle.

I led the software engineering team of the Oracle's Global Sales Engineering (GSE) platform. This effort involved application engineering, infrastructure and advanced technology initiatives. GSE is a service organization that provided a powerful platform for hundreds of thousands of Oracle salesforce and partners to consume business-critical services. We developed secure scalable web (such as https://demo.oracle.com) and mobile iOS/Android/cross-platform applications. The teams were responsible for the integration of Oracle cloud products such as Java Cloud Service, Document Cloud Service, Sales Cloud, Fusion Applications, etc. We also managed a large infrastructure of cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments. The global team provided service-oriented software architecture and OOD development of secure enterprise applications and REST web services using Oracle and open source technologies. The team owned the product, architecture, development, QA, DevOps, data security, infrastructure (scalability, performance, security, databases, reporting, BI, etc) of all the enterprise applications within the organization. We produced software using high standards for quality, security, user experience, DevOps, and engineering best practices from fast-paced Agile software life cycles and CI/CD methodologies.I acted as technical leader of the GSE org, spearheaded security initiatives across multiple projects, provided hands-on technical leadership, drove projects in cross-functional roles, and collaborated with many other organizations within Oracle.

INSZoom is a SAAS start-up and the world's largest immigration case management software company. I oversaw the US and India engineering organizations architecting and driving multiple projects ranging from enterprise cloud to mobile products. We developed scalable secure applications and services in multiple technology stacks in the cloud (open source in AWS) and on-premise (.NET) with SQL/NoSQL databases. We produced releases using Agile Scrum.I modernized and migrated some key legacy products to the cloud on Amazon Web Services and utilized multiple cloud technologies (PAAS, IAAS, DBAAS, etc) as part of a distributed architecture. I contributed new technology initiatives and best engineering practices across the organization while leading and mentoring engineering staff. I advised the executive team on technology, and engineering roadmap as well as represented the company externally with large clients and partners.

White Sky was a fast-paced security start-up in the area of identity management (I contributed 5 issued patents around identity protection). I directed the global engineering team (in-house, off-shore and contractors), and led the work for web/mobile/desktop applications, security, UI, communication, and REST services. White Sky used a mix of cloud (AWS) and on-premise infrastructure to support a large number (millions) of users/transactions with high concurrency in a low-latency model. Software development was done using .NET/Java stacks and native mobile for iOS/Android.Under my leadership, we grew White Sky user base from a few thousand users to almost 10M+ users in a short time. I was a key contributor, deeply involved in the overall service oriented architecture for all the cloud-based distributed high-traffic apps and services. We developed an ecosystem of applications and services that included product web sites, messaging services, second-factor-authentication PIN services (using X509/RSA cryptography), cache clusters, write-behind caching, data pipe message queuing, data access layers, and SQL databases in a redundant architecture.We deployed our applications to millions of users under Comcast’s Constant Guard Protection Suite brand and AOL OnePoint.

Silicon Valley stealth-mode start-up company founded and led by Eric Hahn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ehahn well-known serial entrepreneur) focusing on client applications for free, unlimited peer-to-peer (P2P) backup among a network of buddies (using each other's free space). I was one of the select few to join this company as an architect. I worked on application architecture, P2P protocols, and UI design/development. This was a small but very talented team. The company ceased its operations after a lower-than-expected end user adoption of the main product.

Spec'ed, designed, developed and managed the first software platform for the Octet -- a revolutionary biotech instrument used for protein assays. The software performed real-time data acquisition, charting, data storage, and data analysis (for quantitation and kinetics assays). Architected the entire application from a rich UI all the way to the communication layer between user software and instrument (hardware) embedded process.

Responsible for the design and development of the Velocity suite of products (server networking applications): Velocity was a complex multi-threaded product designed to maximize printing resources by offering solutions like load balancing, job monitoring, etc.
