Dallas CERT is an organization under the City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management and FEMA. This government program trains its members to be volunteer Emergency Response Personnel. CERT members are expected to have an awareness of their own neighborhoods, and to pre-determine possible evacuation sites that will facilitate effective, safe, and rapid response ​to emergencies. The CERT program teaches volunteer members about disaster preparedness for hazards that affect their own areas or zones. The program trains you in basic disaster response skills (fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations).
