Education: BS and MS in Computer Science, Research Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Executive Program in Biotechnology Business Management, Executive Program in IT Management, Master in IT Management.I have more than 15 years of experience in ICT project management and team leadership. I have held technical and managerial positions both in private and public sector. I currently oversee strategic innovation projects using ICT for Regional Governing Bodies.My main interests as a Computer Science Engineer are the application of advanced computing to management and data analysis especially in eHealth sector (Telemedicine, Health Information Systems, Bioinformatics), Cloud Computing, High Performance Computing and Parallel/Distributed Programming technologies.I have an extensive knowledge in innovation projects and technologies such as Unix-based operating systems, Cloud Computing (Amazon Web Services, IBM Smart Cloud), MapReduce clusters and frameworks (Hadoop), Web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, XML/JSON), programming languages (Python, Perl, Java, PHP, C, Erlang), version control systems (Subversion, GIT) and Database design and management (relational: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL: HBase and MongoDB).
