Asumí el cargo de Jefe de Oficina de UNFPA Costa Rica en julio de 2022. Soy costarricense, con una maestría en Economía del Desarrollo con énfasis en Gestión Macroeconómica y Políticas Públicas, una licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales con énfasis en Administración y Gestión de Cooperación Internacional y Diplomado en Derechos Humanos.En el periodo 2019-2022 me desempeñé como Ministro de Desarrollo Humano e Inclusión Social de Costa Rica.En su carrera ha sido Coordinador del equipo asesor de la Presidencia de la Caja Costarricense de Seguridad Social (CCSS), Secretario Técnico del Consejo Social de Gobierno, Presidente del Consejo Directivo del Consejo Nacional de Préstamos para la Educación (CONAPE), Coordinador Nacional de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio, asesor y consultor en la región mesoamericana en temas de educación, salud, seguridad social, gestión de riesgos, salud, trabajo y medio ambiente. Ha escrito múltiples artículos sobre temas como sistemas de salud en Centroamérica, seguridad social, gestión de riesgos y política social.____________________I was appointed as Head of Office of UNFPA Costa Rica in July 2022. I am Costa Rican, andn I have a master’s degree in development economics with an emphasis on Macroeconomic Management and Public Policies, a bachelor's degree in International Relations with an emphasis on Management of International Cooperation, and a Diploma in Human Rights.In the period 2019-2022, I served as Minister of Human Development and Social Inclusion of Costa Rica.In my career, I served as Chief of Cabinet at Presidency of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), Technical Secretary of the Government Social Council, President of the National Council of Loans for Education (CONAPE), National Coordinator of the Millennium Development Goals, a presidential advisor and consultant in the region on issues of education, health, social security, risk management, labor and the environmental health. I have written articles on topics such as health systems in Central America, social security, risk management and social policy.
