Main responsibilities:• Provides technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering.• Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level. • Provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members.• Serves as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. • Involvement may last throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modification, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.• Design of electrical harnesses and electrical routing for International trucks (2D, Wiring Schematics and 3D)• Design reviewer• Validation of design in prototype units• Optimization of production cost• Simplify the manufacturing process • Improve the quality, functionality and reliability of existing products• Solve warranty issues: Identifying the root cause of the problem, 8D follow up with supplier (if applies), immediate correction actions and minimize the cost of permanent actions.• Develop new or modify existing product designs for improvement.• Establish Bills of Material for new or modified products• Establish test plans to validate new or modified designs, and prepare technical reports upon completion of test.• Train new hired engineers in order to accelerate their learning curve.
