As a Graduate Research Fellow in Mathematics at the University of Michigan, I am passionate about exploring the intersection of differential geometry and machine learning on manifolds. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois, I successfully contributed to student learning and overall course success by:- Analyzing over 400 student reviews using Pandas to identify learning habits and methodologies that maximized student grades, leading to an increase in final course grades.- Curating dozens of mathematical concepts and delivering rigorous instruction of fundamental ideas in the introductory to differential equations course, while identifying challenging concepts to refine student understanding and improve test scores by 23%.- Collaborating with 2 instructors and 4 graduate teaching assistants to ensure an efficient grading process, while reducing re-grade requests by 30%.- Using SQL and Pandas to format, clean, and merge previous course grade data sets to gain insight into difficult topics within the course, and strategically allocating instruction time per topic. This resulted in improved student engagement and overall satisfaction with the course.
